Texas Hold'em is the most frequently played poker game in the world. This intelligent game requires a lot of skill, concentration and a little bit of luck. If you feel like killing some time why not learn the rules and have a go.

Useful tips to follow

Start at the Bottom
Although your aspirations may be high and you may turn out to be a furious ball of talent on the poker table you should start with the basics. Start on the low level tables or on the play money tables (no risk involved!). Another good way to start is to play on the limit tables rather than low limit tables as this will be much more controlled. Experimentation is the best way to learn fast.

Don't trust your massive Play Money Stack!
OK, so you've won a bunch of money on the play money tables and you have probably got enough flair to take on the lesser players on the low limit real money tables but don't jump in at the deep end! Playing on the low limit tables will give you the experience and confidence to move on to larger challenges.

Play your cards
Your two starting hands (hole cards) are the factor that usually effect the outcome of the game the most. You must learn to play the best starting hands to your advantage. An AA (ace-ace) combo simply has a much greater chance of winning than say a 7-3 combo. Play the good starting hands. Fold the bad. Learning self-discipline is an essential part of becoming a winning poker player - this is what will set you apart from the average player.

Position Play
The best place to be seated in a poker game is the "late position" as it allows you to see what moves your opponents have played and react to them. In order to become a disciplined poker player you must understand the advantage that the late position gives you and learn to utilise it.

Fold
Learning when to fold is one of the most important things to learn. Remember money saved, buys the same stuff as money won!
